Machining your timber
For quantities in excess of 20m3 we can machine your kiln dried softwood at either Epping or Lingfield depot. Maximum section size is 125 x 225mm nominal. Products will be machined to a target of a minimum of 12 cutter marks per 25mm.
Preservative Pre-Treating your timber
For quantities in excess of 2m3 we can preservative pre-treat
your timber with Arch Timber Protections’ ‘green’
Tanalith E®, with or without a water repellent additive
(Tanalith E Extra) or ‘brown’ Tanatone® at our
Epping depot only. Please state the desired use class when enquiring
about a price for our treatment services.

Re-Sawing / Ripping your timber
At our Lingfield depot only, we have a high speed re-sawing line, so for quantities in excess of 20m3 we can re-saw your timber very efficiently.

Cross Cutting your Timber
At our Epping depot only, we have automated cross cutting facility, so for quantities in excess of 10m3 we can cross cut your timber very efficiently. Maximum section size is 100 x 225mm, to a cutting tolerance of +/- 1.0mm. |

OUR TIMBER – Fire retardant protection
As well as being able to treat most of our stock products
to Tanatone® and Tanalith E®, we can also supply
products fire retardant treated to meet BBA performance
requirements (Dricon).
Fire retardant treated timber tends to apply to cladding and decking type products and there are two options to consider, Non-Com® for exterior un-coated situations and Dricon® for interior un-coated or exterior coated situations.
If you would like us to provide a price for a fire retardant treated product, we need to know both the application and desired level of protection before we can quote. The level of protection is based on the rate of spread of flame and are expressed as a classification:
The performance normally required for wall and ceiling linings is Class 1 spread of flame in accordance with BS 476 :Part 7 or Euroclass C in accordance with BS EN 13501-1:2002
The performance normally required in high risk areas such as escape routes and staircases is Class 0 in accordance with BS 476: Parts 6 & 7 or Euroclass B in accordance with BS EN 13501-1:2002 |
